Doing the laundry is one of those chores that takes time and has an impact on your budget, particularly when it comes to changing your dryer. When shopping around, the main things you look for are the price of the appliance, its capacity or its style, and maybe even the possibility of a wrinkle-free option. But what about the dryer’s energy source? This is an important factor to consider even before you buy, and here’s why.
In addition to the above benefits, you should be aware that a natural gas dryer needs to be hooked up to the natural gas supply and requires a standard 110/115-volt outlet for the drum, fan, lamps and buttons. An electric dryer requires a 240-volt outlet. If you end up choosing a natural gas appliance, it is very important that you get a certified technician to install the natural gas line and connect the appliance.
