Custom-made project
The Custom-made project component subsidizes measures related to the use of natural gas in production processes and energy efficient equipment that are not covered under other Gazifère programs. This component also aims to subsidize measures related to the envelopes and mechanics of buildings using natural gas. Gazifère is offering $1 per cubic metre of natural gas saved, up to 40% of the incremental cost of the measure or $75,000*.

How to participate?

Organize a feasibility study or an energy simulation
In the case of an existing building, the measures to be implemented must be recommended as part of a feasibility study carried out or approved by a professional engineer. In the case of a new building, the measures must be recommended as part of an energy simulation.

Consult the participant’s guide for the support for initiatives program (new building or existing building)
To obtain the financial assistance offered by Gazifère, certain eligibility criteria must be met. Be sure to familiarize yourself with these before preparing a pre-admission application.

Send us your pre-admission application along with the summary of the measures to be implemented
To obtain the financial assistance offered by Gazifère, you will need approval of your pre-admission application prior to implementing the proposed energy efficiency measures. To that end, send us your pre-admission application along with the summary of the proposed measures.

Wait for Gazifère’s approval
Gazifère will confirm receipt of the pre-admission application within 10 business days. Gazifère will process those applications on a first come first served basis and depending on the availability of funds.

Organize the implementation of the energy efficiency measures

Submit your request for participation
You must submit the following documents:
- A copy of the feasibility study
- A copy of the energy simulation, if applicable, in electronic format;
- The Proposed measures form (PDF)
- A copy of the invoice for any newly acquired equipment, along with photos of the installed equipment and its rating plate.
That invoice must have been issued within the 12 months prior to the request for participation. The model number and date of installation must be indicated. The date of installation must be later than the date of approval of your pre-admission application.
Any equipment for which Gazifère already provides a cash incentive under a separate program will not be approved under this component.

Wait for Gazifère’s decision on financial assistance
Gazifère will review the request for participation before issuing the financial assistance. The information received will be submitted to an external consultant. Gazifère will cover the cost of the review, and the applicant will receive a copy of that review. If additional information is required, the business in charge of the file will be contacted.
The applicant will be informed in writing as to whether the request for financial assistance has been approved or turned down, and of the amount granted if approved. Payment will be made by cheque mailed to the address indicated in the request for participation.
