Support for
Initiatives

The Support for Initiatives program subsidizes measures involving the use of natural gas in production processes, high-efficiency equipment not covered by existing Gazifère programs and measures involving building mechanical systems.

Gazifère provides cash incentive of $0.30/m3 of natural gas saved. The cash incentive provided by Gazifère cannot exceed 40% of the cost of the measure or $20,000* for projects involving building mechanical systems, and 40% of the cost of the measure or $10,000* for the other types of projects.

What do you have to do?

Step1

ARRANGE FOR A FEASIBILITY STUDY OR AN ENERGY SIMULATION REPORT

In the case of an existing building, the measures implemented must be recommended in a feasibility study prepared by an engineer who is a member of a professional association. In the case of a new building, the measures must be recommended in connection with an energy simulation.

Step 2

CONSULT THE PARTICIPANT’S GUIDE ON SUPPORT FOR INITIATIVES (New Building or Existing Building)

In order to receive financial assistance from Gazifère, certain eligibility criteria must be met. Be sure to review them carefully before preparing a pre-admission application.

Step 3

SEND IN YOUR PRE-ADMISSION APPLICATION AND A SUMMARY OF THE MEASURES TO BE IMPLEMENTED

In order to qualify for financial assistance from Gazifère, you must obtain approval of your pre-admission prior to implementing the energy efficiency measures in question. To do that, you must send us your pre-admission form as well as a summary of the measures to be implemented.

Step 4

OBTAIN GAZIFÈRE’S APPROVAL

Gazifère will confirm receipt of the pre-admission form within 10 working days. Gazifère processes pre-admissions on a first come, first served basis, and depending on the availability of funds.

Step 5

ARRANGE FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE ENERGY EFFICIENCY MEASURES

SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION

You must include the following documents:

Invoices must be dated in the current year. The model number of the installed appliance and the date of installation must be indicated. The date of installation must be later than your pre-admission application.

Appliances for which Gazifère already provides cash incentive under another program are not eligible under this program.

Step 7

OBTAIN GAZIFÈRE’S CASH INCENTIVE

Gazifère will submit the information received to an external consultant for review before providing any cash incentive. The costs associated with that review will be covered by Gazifère, and a copy of the ensuing report will be forwarded to the applicant. If there is any missing or unsatisfactory information, we will contact the company representative in charge of the file for clarifications.

The applicant will be notified in writing whether the application for cash incentive has been accepted or denied, and of the amount. A cheque will be mailed to the address indicated on the application for cash incentive.
